Experiences of successful and failed projects, high expectations and precarious conditions in late capitalism will be discussed in this workshop.
The scenes are heterogeneous, diverse and in constant change. Fluctuation in free radio means that knowledge and experiences are constantly changing, new people are looking for their place and want to share their thoughts, ideas and imaginations. Feminist practice is also marked in community radios with a long tradition of resistance within countercultures, yet the presence of Feminist Radio Content in times of masculinism and right-wing populists is an essential basic attitude of the community radios.

Ulli Weish (sie/ihr) has been a media scientist at the University of Vienna since 1996 and managing director of Radio Orange 94.0 Vienna. She is also  an activist for the 20000frauen platform and active as a feminist adult educator in civil society contexts since 1993.

Xenia Niki Matita (she/her) is an everyday ethnographer and sound artist and radio activist in Berlin. She is the initiator of the statistical survey FACTS by female:pressure and board member of AMARC Europe for WIN/ Womens International Network since 2016.
